Reviews of Ana Crowne Plaza Hotel Kyoto, An Ihg Hotel

The hotel is conveniently located right next to the famous Nijo castle, allowing guests to easily explore this historical site. There is also a shuttle bus service available every 15 minutes to the Kyoto station, making it convenient for guests to access other parts of the city. Furthermore, the hotel is surrounded by charming streets with cozy restaurants, providing plenty of dining options for guests to enjoy.
The bathrooms in the hotel may be slightly dated in terms of decor, according to one guest review.

Very helpful staff and excellent service. The location is good taking into account hat all key sights are spread all over Kyoto and a shuttle to the station is provided free of charge.
The breakfast buffet is good, but also a bit costly.

The hotel bus is super convenient. Great location for accessing all areas of city. Close to subway and main bus route. Some fabulous restaurants in local area.
The pool and gym are not free for guests and is quite expensive

During my New Year stay, the cafe offered a delicious breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice and a variety of dishes. The renovated rooms were comfortable and had thoughtful amenities such as bath salts. the hotel was conveniently located near a major tourist attraction and provided shuttle service.
The lack of air conditioning in the evening made for an uncomfortable night's sleep. the hotel's fitness area had restrictive rules and only allowed access later in the day, making it difficult to get a workout in during the morning.

The hotel was located in a great location across from a stunning castle. We enjoyed walking to nearby restaurants and shops, including a delicious ramen restaurant. Our room was spacious and the bathroom was larger compared to others we had encountered during our travels. The staff were friendly and the breakfast buffet was very satisfying.
One aspect that could be improved was the cost of using the swimming pool, which we found to be quite expensive.

The hotel is conveniently located near a subway station, making it easy to explore the city. It is also situated opposite the Kyoto castle, providing a stunning view for those who choose a room with a castle view. Additionally, there are plenty of tourist attractions nearby, such as Nijo Castle and temples, offering guests a chance to immerse themselves in the local culture.
The rooftop bar, although offering a magnificent view of the adjacent castle, is a bit disappointing with its plastic patio seating and fake grass, which takes away from the overall ambiance of the bar area.

The staff in traditional dress were so courteous and polite and helpful. This is a world class hotel at reasonable prices.
The ANA is a bit away from the main Kyoto station but they had a hotel bus to pick us up and drop us at the train station.

Location is good. You are right opposite Nijo Castle which has lovely grounds as well if you want to walk around. You could get an all day bus ticket and on the far side of the street you can get a number 12 bus to The Golden Temple. Underground station is just a short walk away and there is a nice light bakery and coffee shop on the way.
we got a smart deal but the hotel is still expensive and the rooms are a little tatty. This is to be expected in Japan.

The hotel had excellent facilities including a large indoor pool and a gym. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful, especially the lady at the front desk who assisted with arranging a bus ticket and the gentleman who did the breakfast call-outs. The hotel also offered a variety of restaurants with a discount, and the breakfast provided was delicious. Additionally, the hotel provided a free shuttle service to the train station, which was convenient for transportation.
Nothing could have been better.

Excellent service and great location, across the street from a castle and give you a map explaining the bus and train routes to get to anything you need. About 5 restaurants in the building which helped when we didn't know many local spots to go with. Also shuttle to and from the train station every 15 minutes.
If I had to have a negative it would be the buildings age. You can tell right away by the carpets its been around for awhile, however this is reflected in its lower cost compared to other high class hotels in the area.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this luxurious hotel in Kyoto. The location was perfect, right in the heart of the city and with a stunning view of the nearby castle. The hotel's shuttle service made it incredibly convenient to explore the area and get to and from the train station. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, ensuring that my every need was met. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with all the amenities I could ask for, including a well-stocked mini-bar and a cozy sitting area. The cleanliness was top-notch, and I appreciated the daily housekeeping service. The hotel also had a variety of dining options, with delicious Japanese cuisine and even a buffet dinner to satisfy all tastes.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay in Kyoto. The service, amenities, and location are all top-notch, making it the perfect choice for both business and leisure travellers.

Very elegant entrance to the hotel, all staff in the reception wear traditional kimono and they look very nice.Every 20 minutes is free shuttle bus from railway station in Kioto to the hotel and opposite, at the railway station bus stop is located in front of MCDonald.
First of all almost all staff of the hotel dont speak english or any othe language except japanese..., So is very difficult to communicate with them. Very expensive breakfast -almost 30 euro per person, room very old, furnishure old and used, horrible kettle in the room.
